Threading

Threading is an ancient technique for facial & brow hair removal!

It has been practiced in Asia and the Middle East and has recently gained popularity in Western countries and Australia.

A thin (cotton or polyester) thread is doubled, and then twisted. It is rolled over areas of unwanted hair, plucking the hair at the follicle level. Unlike tweezing, where single hairs are pulled out one at a time, threading can remove short lines of hair.

Advantages of eyebrow threading, as opposed to eyebrow waxing, sugaring, laser or hair removal creams, is that it is organic, chemical free solution that does not stretch or pull the skin. As no heat is applied, there is no reaction to products, no double dipping, no allergy and no redness on the face. It is suitable for men and women; as well as all skin types and colours, a popular choice for people who do not qualify for laser hair removal.

Threading allows for a more precise control in shaping eyebrows and is gentler on the skin. It can be painful as several hairs are removed at once, however this can be minimized if it is done correctly.

There are a few different techniques for threading. These include the hand method, mouth method and neck and each technique has advantages and disadvantages.
